Fire Department
East Hawkesbury Fire Department has three (3) fire stations located in the town of St-Eugene, Chute-a-Blondeau and Ste-Anne-de-Prescott. The Fire Department has a Fire Chief, a Deputy Fire Chief and 25 volunteer firefighters. The four main objectives of the East Hawkesbury Fire Department, under the Ontario law, are suppression, training, fire prevention and education. The East Hawkesbury Fire Department protects the lives, property and environment of residents and visitors to East Hawkesbury. This mission is achieved by intervening in all types of emergencies, including medical emergencies, fires and emergency measures, and by continuing our actions in prevention, education and civil security.
Educate, prevent, intervene, restore, and secure, while constantly improving as a service. East Hawkesbury Fire Department aims to reduce, if not eliminate, deaths and property losses attributable to fires. To achieve this goal, it:
- Encourages the population to adopt a culture of fire safety and works to provide community members with the knowledge and tools necessary for fire prevention;
- Improves emergency response by providing ongoing staff training, identifying opportunities for improvement and managing service priorities.

Fire Stations
On-call firefighters are notified via a paging system and respond to their respective fire stations. The Fire Department headquarters is located in St-Eugene with other stations in Chute-a-Blondeau and Ste Anne de Prescott.
Water Tanker Shuttle Accreditation
Having successfully completed the Fire Protection Survey Services exams, the East Hawkesbury Fire Department has been awarded the Water Tanker Shuttle Accreditation.
Residential properties located within 5 miles of one of the fire stations may be eligible for discounts on their home insurance premiums. Discounts are not automatically calculated and vary from one insurance company to another. Contact your insurance company directly to determine documentation requirements.
NOTE: This accreditation is only valid within 5 miles of the fire station for homes and 5 miles for commercial buildings, unless otherwise specified by the insurance company.
