Garbage and Recycling
Garbage
Garbage is collected weekly. Your garbage bin must be placed with the logo facing the street. See the garbage collection schedule to find out which day garbage will be picked up at your residence.
A 240 litre (64 gallons) garbage container marked with a Township serial number and logo is provided to each residence. This container is the waste limit for each residence. No other containers may be used for collection.
If you have more waste, you may have a second container at the City Hall, however, you will be charge for 2 units.
Large Waste Collection
Each household is allowed to put 2 large items at the curb on the third Tuesday of each month. Bulky items are collected separately from the bins so please ensure that your bins and bulky items are at the curb no later than 7:00 a.m. on your collection day. (See items with restrictions and items not allowed.) For tires, each household is allowed to place 6 tires per year on the curb on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Collection will be made within one week. Leaf and yard waste, each household is allowed to place on the 3rd Tuesday of May and November and collection will be made within that week.

Recycling
Recycling collection now managed by Circular Materials.
As of July 1, 2023, Circular Materials, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating efficient recycling systems is responsible for the Township of East Hawkesbury's blue box recycling program. Their contractor, GRS Sanitation, will collect recycling throughout the Township each week. This new program is a provincial effort to create a more consistent and efficient blue box service that will reduce waste and allow more materials to be recycled in more communities. For more information on this program, visit their website, Circular Materials.
